I Come From

I've been drinking in the inspiration of Amanda Gorman and her 2 core questions: Who do you come from? (biological and honorary ancestors) What do you stand for?

I come from

Gender magicians and shape shifting harmonizers who cast spells of beauty, play, and magnificent possibility.

I come from

Sacred prostitutes who know the artistry of love making, who know how to take the war and abandonment out of humans “left behind.”

I come from

Grief ritualists who companion you unwaveringly, who love you and love those who may be untouchable, unpopular to love...who hold you in song and warmth as you feel where it hurts and trust you are not alone.

I come from

Immigrants who escaped violence, incarceration, and debt arriving as part of an untouchable caste and generating a life of love, contribution, family, and artistry.

I come from

Panting furry dogs and wolves running in the night after small creatures and pouncing in the morning on your bed with wet kisses.

I come from

Visionaries who believe in the unseen dreams of liberation and social harmony, who feel it in our bones and are devoted to it even though may it may come long after our death.

I come from

Leather, kink the intended and unintended ordeals intimacy offers our souls revealing our tremendous resilience, adoration, romance, and wild nature of who we are when fully alive.

I come from

Sentient beings and creatures who make love with the earth, water, fire, air, trees, life, and death on a daily basis.

I come from

Sociologists, mystic, artistic, and cultural anthropologists watching and nurturing the evolution of our human family.

I come from

Mountain people who honor their lives even in a country and society that does not honor them. I come from poor people who have chosen to be generous.

I come from

Ancient dance rituals rhythmically connecting the earth and sky through our bodies, in prayer, humility, and ecstatic celebration.

I dance to

embody

more

love.
